I started the day with a 10 mile walk and a beautiful sunrise. Then I returned to the RV and began packing up to leave, for today is the day I can pick up the repaired tow car and get back on my revised Rt 66 route for the 93 miles I’ve walked as my RV was being repaired.

About 2pm I was able to pick up the repaired tow car from the Chevy dealer. After buying a few items of equipment for the support RV, I’m finally on my way.

The 93miles I’ve walked during the 10 days it has taken for the repairs, allows me to start tomorrow in Mineola, CA, some 14 miles east of Barstow on Rt 66.

From here, Route 66 and I-40 head east across the desert toward Needles CA, well over 100 miles away.

I’ll walk Route 66 and when it is either not available or not adjacent to I-40, the California Highway patrol will allow me to walk I-40.
