This morning, before leaving Los Vegas, Peg Clement and I visited the Nevada Public Radio station KNPR main offices to drop off a copy of Rick’s talk.

Here’s a link to my talk - "The Urgent Need to Repair Our Democracy"

As we walked in the door, who should we meet but a person familiar to Vermonters.

Many of you Vermont Public Radio listeners may remember Mark Vogelsang, who served as President and CEO of Vermont Public Radio for 16 years, from 1993 to 2009.

Ever wonder where Mark ended up? Well, here’s now here - as President and CEO of Nevada’s Public Radio. It’s also so he could be near his brother who lives nearby.

I was an occasional VPR Commentator back when Mark was in Vermont. We remembered each other and enjoyed several minutes of catching up.

Here’s a photo of us.

Peg and I also briefly met with Producer Dave Berns of KNPR who plans to interview me   when his workload drops back after the November election.

Here's a photo of the two of us.

After our visit we returned to where I left off walking near Palm Gardens NV where Peg supported me for another 10 mile walk that ended with a 3 mile “shortcut” across a rough and unmaintained desert gravel “Class 4” road near sunset from Nevada Route 95 to Route 163.

And here's a photo of a little fellow or gal I spotted en-route. It's a desert tortoise.
