Today's 10 mile walk began in Goffs, CA following the road east in the direction of CA State Route 75, closely paralleling the busy railroad corridor.

Early in the walk I spotted flower, which are seldom found at this time in the desert. So I stopped, picked a bunch, and presented to Peg as an arrival present to both of us. They turn out to be Desert Marigolds, and are now brightening up our support RV for a few to several days.

Partway through the walk I spotted Mark, on his bicycle, riding in my direction.

Mark stopped and we quickly bonded over my interest in his cross-country bicycle ride, and his own interest in our non-partisan Walking To Fix Our Democracy effort.

With Mark's consent, I videoed his own thoughts about the state of our democracy. They follow:

Lastly, here is a photo of our two overlapping volunteers. Rich Combs, who is leaving today, and Peg Clement who just arrived for a week.
